Product Description

The Asgard Secure Bike Store x8 is a superior quality, large and heavy-duty bike storage and maintenance shed providing robust, flexible and professional quality secure storage for up to 8 bikes (or more with the addition of optional bike hangers) and all your cycling equipment and accessories. The Secure Bike Store is part of Asgard Centurion’s modular range, which allows extension panels to be added to enlarge the unit’s storage capacity if required. The Secure Bike Store x8 has achieved Police Preferred Specification status from Secured by Design (SBD), the official UK police security initiative, and has been tested and certified by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) and the UK Locksmiths Association for its high security features and its strength and resistance to break-in attacks.

Professional-level XL-size secure bike storage

The Secure Bike Store x8 is constructed from strong, heavy duty galvanised steel panels coated in polyester powder-coated paint, which is highly durable and fully weatherproof and rust-resistant. It features a built-in metal floor with fixings to securely bolt the unit into concrete or similar solid surface, a high security pick and drill resistant 5 point euro cylinder lock, internal deadbolts, and reinforced doors, hinges and panels to help withstand forced attack from thieves. The Secure Bike Store x8 is supplied with an access ramp and protective wooden subflooring which sits on top of the metal base to protect your tyres. It also features a heavy-duty full width shelf and hooks for storing your cycle equipment and riding gear, and a bike rack with four-wheel holders. An optional metal bike hanger can also be purchased to store more bikes inside, and free up valuable floor space.

Quality design features and electric ready

The Secure Bike Store x8 weighs an impressive 413kg (65 stones) with large, easy access double doors, wide enough to wheel your bikes straight inside. The unit is based on traditional wooden shed styling, with a pitched roof and centralised door opening for easy access and can comfortably accommodate up to 3 heavy-duty metal shelves (sold separately) on the rear panel to maximise internal storage (unless the rear panel is being used for the optional metal bike hanger). The Secure Bike Store x8 features Asgard’s unique shed ventilation system, consisting of discrete holes in the roof and within vented side panels that maintain airflow inside the shed and minimise condensation without compromising on security. It also comes with a cable access within the fascia, enabling you to easily add a security camera or lights to the front of the shed. The unit is also supplied with four electric mounting plates and pre-drilled cable holes – one on each of the side extension panels -to allow the installation of electric sockets for charging your electric bikes, bike lights and other battery-powered cycling equipment while they remain locked and secure.

Options and upgrades

The Secure Bike Store x8 is available in a choice of three colours: green, ivory or grey. Optional upgrades and accessory packs are available for Secure Bike Store x8 including ramp grip tape, a metal bike hanger and additional shelving (supplied in single packs) to maximise bike storage. The panels are pre-drilled with holes ready to attach the accessories. Please note: Internal components pictured are optional extras and not included in the basic price.

Recommended Base & Installation

A firm, level surface is required before installation can take place (e.g. concrete, tarmac or a patio 50mm/2” thick). The base must be solid and completely flat. The recommended surface for Secure Bike Store x8 is a solid concrete base measuring 1730mm (5’8”) in width x 4940mm (16’2”) in depth x 50mm in height. The Secure Bike Store x8 comes with an installation pack with illustrated step-by-step instructions for self-assembly. A full assembly service is also available as an optional extra however fitting of the electric sockets is not included as part of the installation option. Some customer drilling may be required to fit the sockets. Please note: It is recommended installation of the electrical sockets and wiring is carried out by a qualified electrician.

Secured by Design (SBD) is the official police security initiative that works to improve the security of buildings and their surroundings.

SBD’s product based accreditation scheme – the Police Preferred Specification - provides a recognised standard for all security products that can deter and reduce crime.

What is the LPCB?

Established more than 150 years ago, the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) is a globally recognised third-party certification body.

Part of BRE, the LPCB has worked with industry and insurers since 1868 to set the standards needed to make sure that fire and security products and services perform effectively.

The LPCB’s Loss Prevention Standards (LPS) are widely recognised and applied in fire and security sectors around the world. The LPCB has produced a specific standard for standalone padlocks (LPS 1645) based on a testing regime which focusses on their level of manual attack resistance.

The LPCB also offers third-party certification to confirm that products and services have met, and will continue to meet, these standards.
