Product Description

These Pan Head Torx Masonry Screws provide strong and secure fastening for DefendaStrip ‘Flex’ are corrosion and fire resistant, making them ideal for outdoor installations. They are recommended by DefendaStrip as the optimal solution for securing the ‘Flex’ product into masonry or on wooden fences.

Recommended fixing methods

For masonry surfaces, DefendaStrip recommend drilling and plugging prior to fixing to ensure a solid fixing, however it is possible to screw straight into brick or stone using a good quality masonry screw. For wooden fences, the width of the top bar of your fence will dictate the fixing method. If the top bar is more than 100mm wide the ‘Flex’ will not need to be cut. If the top bar is less than 100mm wide the Flex can be cut along its length to fit. DefendaStrip do not recommend reducing the width of the ‘Flex’ by more than half to ensure there are ample holes to fix through. The screws should be fixed at regular intervals to ensure secure installation. Adhesive is not suitable for this product.

DefendaStrip Warning Signs

It is recommended that warning signs are displayed clearly when fitting DefendaStrip, in accordance with any relevant regulations. When deployed on a linear run, it is recommended that signage should be placed at regular intervals of around 3m so they are clearly visible. It is generally accepted that any perimeter security measures are best employed at a minimum height of 2m, and due care and attention must be paid to any local, special conditions or obligations, especially when installing the product next to a public highway.
